Help us do good with waste wood

ASAN Wood Saints is a new community wood recycling business based in Wolverhampton. We are currently recruiting volunteers to help save unwanted wood from going to landfill.

Wood Saints collects usable waste wood across the Black Country, South Staffordshire, Telford and Shropshire from builders and construction sites and then prepare it for sale to the public, community groups and trade. Anything that can end up in a skip or general waste such as pallets and scaffolding boards, off cuts and floorboards, are collected and re-used or recycled.

Wood Saints is the latest venture being launched by All Saints Action Network (ASAN), a community development trust which already successfully operates a number of enterprises in the All Saints area including The Workspace, All Saints Day Nursery and Southside Sports.

Iftikar Karim, Wood Saints Recycling Manager, said:

“Wood Saints is an innovative way of saving valuable resources whilst creating employment and training opportunities for local people.

“We offer a competitive wood collection service for construction sites, businesses and householders. The wood is sorted at our Dixon Street depot where volunteers can get involved in activities such as collecting wood with our drivers, preparing timber for sale, working in our retail shop or making products and furniture in our wood workshop.”

“We are looking for people of all ages and backgrounds to join our team, no experience is needed and full training will be provided and expenses paid.”
